The 6th International exhibition «Wooden House» took place from April, 10th till April, 13th, 2010, in the Crocus Expo fairgrounds. For a long time already this event is being referred as the most successful and promising exhibition project in Russia’s wooden construction industry, demonstrating the brand new innovations and developments of Russian and foreign manufacturers.

The exhibition showed a significant growth this year with 10% floor area and 15% exhibitors’ number increase. Total visitors’ number exceeded 25 500, mostly experts. 170 companies from Russia’s regions and foreign countries such as USA, Finland, Germany, Lithuania took part in the fair. The biggest interest to the exhibition was shown by Finnish wooden houses’ manufacturers, considering the Russian market as the promising business development direction.

«The creation of a strong wooden industry at a new higher game-changing level is a matter of vital need for the Russian economy. In today’s Russia almost all the newest technologies are already in use but very few people knows about their advantages. That’s why they require promotion provided by the specialized exhibitions widely overviewed in media», — noted Elena Nikolayeva, the President of National agency of low-rise and cottage construction.

The exhibition directions’ variety together with the vast choice of exhibited production and services demonstrated the complex approach to wooden industry, starting from designing and construction of the house and finishing with its complete engineering maintenance, interiors decoration and the adjoining territory’s development and beautification. The exhibition’s most extensive section — wooden houses’ designing and construction —showed many innovative technologies.

This year’s event happened to be widening of traditional offer of glued beam houses with a number of constructions made of hand-cut round logs, reproducing traditional woodworking technologies. For example, the “Kedrov” company presented the Siberian cedar homes creating a healthy microclimate and possessing a healing energy, and the “Russky kedr/Russian cedar” company, the manufacturer of pine, larch and taiga cedar homes, surprised with the its exhibiting construction’s size: the logs used in the exhibition sample house’s walls were more than a half-meter in diameter.

Constructing a wooden house, you should consider every little point, therefore the section of construction and decoration materials and technologies together with log home chinking and wood care products attracted as much visitors’ attention as wooden houses themselves. The most up-to-date technologies of the log home care were shown by the American company “Perma-Chink Systems, Inc.”: all complex of materials, developed on a unique compounding basing on a water acrylic dispersion, — sealants, stains, finishes, wood protection and restoration means.

The exhibition’s course for ecology was marked by presence of such material as cellulose insulation, and also modern power-consuming engineering systems for private houses, constructions for biological cleaning of the independent water drain and other similar production.

In 2010 the fair featured new independent projects, allowing to consider wooden construction in a multi-dimensional way. In «Windows and doors», «Varnishes and paints» and «Roofing and insulation» sections the Russian and foreign companies presented their novelties.

As life in the wooden house always means relaxation and dialogue with the nature, the exhibition features this concept in widely presented range of baths and saunas, arbours, pergolas and garden pavilions, small architectural forms, furniture and other wooden decorative products.

For those visitors who only consider a possibility of living in the wooden house, numerous ready projects in developing and already existing cottage communities were presented with big discounts. The public was also involved into the «A wooden sculpture hand-cut» show, organized by Charity fund of woodworking technologies.

Being simultaneously held, «AQUA SALON: Wellness and SPA. Pools and saunas», «Fireplaces salon» and «House and garden. Moscow Garden Show» were providing higher efficiency to the event adding even more interest to the exhibition. These exhibitions were attracting wider visitor’s range, harmoniously supporting each other.

The next “Wooden House” exhibition will take place on March, 23–26, 2011 in the Crocus Expo fairgrounds.
